About Lady Codes

Oh hey. Fancy seeing you here. I’d offer you wine, but I don’t know how to give alcohol on websites yet. (Do they teach you that in Javascript courses?)

Your time is valuable, so I’ll get right to it:

What is ‘Lady Codes’?

If you’re looking for expertise in the field of computer science, you’d be much better off looking almost anywhere else.

If you want real, unfiltered, weekly rantings of an under-caffeinated librarian learning to code, then you’ve come to the right place.

Why ‘Lady Codes’?

I just went back to school to get a degree in Computer Science, and am taking courses while working full-time.

I learn best by writing about what I’m learning, so I started writing articles for fun about my experiences as a nearly-30-year-old humanities nerd trying to join the youths in a field I know nothing about.

That decision-making process went something like this:

Me to me: Hey– you don’t need that much sleep, right?

Me: Actually, I–

Me to me: You can do a weekly blog too, right?

Me: Wow, I mean, that sounds like a lot of work, but–

All jokes aside, I started this blog as a way to write to learn about coding. Come along for the ride and bring a coffee. [Insert ‘java’ joke here.]
